It’s also a quick fix if you’re in a hurry. 

The salt tenderizes the meat, so it cooks faster, and the pepper brings out the savory flavor. 

But you should add the salt right before cooking the meat because it releases moisture and can make your steak dry. 

2. Lemon Pepper Seasoning

Add a little twist to the good old salt and pepper mix with a citrusy touch. 

The lemon pepper seasoning is an all-purpose seasoning that works for chicken, fish, vegetables, and salads. 

And it’s definitely the best seasoning for top sirloin steak if you want something that tastes different but isn’t overwhelming. 

All you need to do is to mix equal amounts of lemon zest with freshly ground pepper. 

Now, bake this mixture at low heat until the zest has dried out.

Then, add the salt and grind it until it’s fine. 

You can mix different types of pepper for the desired spiciness, and you can also find this mix in the supermarket if you don’t want to prepare it at home. 

3. Garlic and Onion Powders

But preparing your own mix gives you more control over what you add to create a special taste profile. 

I usually mix these two ingredients with salt and pepper and rub steak with this mixture for 20 minutes before grilling it. 

But you can add some cayenne pepper for some heat

I personally love how you can prepare this seasoning in bulk and keep it in your pantry to season other cuts of meat, chicken, and fish. 

4. Montreal Seasoning

Montreal seasoning for sirloin tip steak is another versatile dry rub seasoning that you can try.

But it also works for other dishes like chicken, fish, and veggies. 

It’s a mix of dry herbs and spices, including sea salt, different kinds of pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, coriander, and dill seed.

5. Coffee and Chili Powder

I know that this isn’t a traditional seasoning for steak, but you might want to give it a try, and I guarantee that you won’t regret it. 

Ground coffee has a bitter taste that somehow brings out the richness of the sirloin steak, and the chili powder will add the needed spiciness. 

Rub this mix onto the meat one hour before putting it on the grill, or even leave it in the fridge for a couple of hours to ensure it has absorbed all the flavors. 

Experiment with other spices like garlic powder, onion powder, ground cinnamon, and coriander for a new taste profile. 

Just make sure you add the salt right before cooking the steak so it doesn’t dry out.

The results will be phenomenal. 

6. Mesquite Seasoning

The best way to describe this southern mix is that it feels earthy and smoky with balanced sweetness from the brown sugar.

This is an excellent dry rub for grilling or pan-searing your steak, as it combines savory, sweet, and spicy flavors in a single rub. 

While it might not be your typical steak seasoning, brown sugar balances out the umami flavor of your steak, making it taste richer. 

You should mix equal amounts of salt, brown sugar, cumin, dry oregano, smoked paprika, dry rosemary, dry sage, dry mustard powder, garlic powder, and onion powder, and rub both sides of the steak with this mix. 

This seasoning is also available in stores, and it only takes about 20 minutes for these rich flavors to infuse the meat.  

7. Roasted Garlic Butter

With a luxurious taste and feel, garlic butter will be an excellent seasoning for pan-seared sirloin steak.

Moreover, it can be served with steak when it’s done. 

Mix chopped parsley, basil, chives, salt, and pepper. 

Then, add roasted garlic that you’ve roasted in the oven, and stir all these ingredients with a rubber spatula. 

Finally, add your soft butter and mash until all the ingredients are perfectly combined. 

Rub the steak with the butter before pan-searing it, add a spoonful of butter on top before serving, and watch it melt slowly. 

You can also use it to season your side mashed potatoes or stalk beans. 

I love to prepare a large amount of roasted garlic butter in advance.

Then, I roll it into a log and keep it in the fridge for up to three weeks. 

Just a quick tip: don’t be shy about adding more butter.

It will add a tasty garlic twist and will make your steak look and taste amazing. 

8. Pesto Paste

Seasoning sirloin steak for grill using pesto sauce adds freshness with a garlicky flavor. 

The paste is made of crushed garlic cloves, coarse salt, pine nuts or walnuts, basil leaves, and olive oil, and you can prepare it at home or buy it from the store.

You can customize this marinade a little but add some garlic powder and salt and pepper. 

10. Balsamic Vinegar and Worcestershire Sauce

Try this marinade by mixing balsamic vinegar with Worcestershire sauce and a little olive oil to have tender and juicy steak. 

You can also use some honey for a little twist. 

I usually marinate sirloin steak for two or three hours.

Marinating for more than eight hours isn’t recommended, as the vinegar will start breaking the proteins. 

But if you really want your steak to melt in your mouth, you can soak it in the marinade for up to 24 hours. 

Before grilling your meat, add some salt and pepper, and it will be ready. 

11. Bouillon

Whenever I’m in a hurry, I use bouillon cubes to season steak right before cooking it. 

Bouillon cubes add meatiness and umami to several dishes, enhancing the richness of steak in no time, and they come with all the spices, so they save a lot of time and effort. 

I crush a cube or two and mix them with some olive oil.

Then, when the steak hits the hot pan, the smell becomes irresistible. 

12. Chimichurri Sauce

This South American sauce will be an excellent seasoning for your steak, with a brightly fresh flavor and a hint of spiciness. 

Thanks to the heavenly combination of garlic, fresh parsley, and fresh cilantro, the herbaceous taste of the sauce will be the perfect addition to sirloin steak. 

You can definitely make this sauce at home and rub it on your steak before roasting or pan-searing it.

Then, save the extra to serve it with the meat or drizzle it on top of a side of grilled veggies. 

But if you don’t have time to prepare it from scratch, you can get one from the store. 

13. Rosemary and Olive Oil

Rosemary has a unique profile taste as it tastes earthy and citrusy, and it balances the meaty flavor of the steak with an evergreen touch. 

Mix the virgin olive oil with freshly chopped rosemary, crushed garlic, balsamic vinegar, and some salt. 

Next, rub the steak until the flavors sink into the meat tissues, and let it sit for no longer than one hour. 

With just a little salt and pepper, your steak will be ready for grilling or pan-searing.

You don’t have to stick to the traditional methods while cooking a beautiful cut of meat like sirloin steak. 

I sometimes prepare a marinade of soy sauce, honey, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper for a new sweet and savory taste. 

Soy sauce will make your steak taste meatier, while the honey will balance the umami flavor with a sweet touch. 

This marinade works if you’ll roast your steak in the oven or pan-sear it.

It also creates an excellent sauce to serve next to the meat after you slice it into thin pieces.

15. Wine and Herbs
