15 Leftover Steak Pasta Recipes You’ll Race to Eat

This list of leftover steak pasta recipes will dazzle your taste buds and take away your fears of wasting food!

Back when I first started cooking, I thought steak pasta was just that.

I didn’t think there was more room for creativity (it already has steak on it, what else could I do?).

I believed that once you had leftovers, you were stuck reheating them the next day.

But one day I decided to direct my passion (and boredom!) into finding a way to turn my leftovers into a delicious meal.

Naturally, I went to look online for inspiration.

That’s when I had a serious change of heart and I began to really experiment.

Today, I’m sharing my all-time favorite leftover steak pasta ideas that I’ve discovered and come up with over the years.

Whether it’s for breakfast, lunch,  dinner, or even snacks, you’ll find a mouthwatering use for your steak pasta leftovers!

1. Steak Pasta Chili

One of the easiest and most delicious leftover steak & pasta ideas is turning it into a bowl of chili mac ’n’ cheese.

This recipe is pretty convenient not only because you can use whatever cheese and chili ingredients you like, but also because it’s easy to make in a single pot.

Simply add the leftovers (including your extra mac and cheese if you have it) to a pot with chili and shredded cheese.

Stir until the cheese melts and you’re good to go!

2. Philly Style Leftovers

Did you know you can make Philly cheese steak into pasta?

Start by dumping your leftovers into a pot, then throw in sauteed onions, peppers, and mushrooms.

After that, pour in a creamy sauce and top with grated cheese.

I love this recipe for quick dinners and lazy brunches.

3. Hearty Pho Soup

Steak Pasta Pho

Pho soup may be the last thing to come to mind when you’re presented with our star ingredients here, but believe it or not, it works!

To make this recipe, grab a pit and pour a suitable amount of broth into your leftovers.

Bring the mixture to a boil then add sriracha, hoisin, and bean sprouts.

Top with cilantro, green onion, basil, and lime.

You’re now ready for a warm dinner!

4. Steak Pasta Salad

This hearty salad is a refreshing take on the filling meal, and it’s perfect for using up leftovers.

You can serve it as a main course or a side dish.

You can even pack it for lunch on the go!

You’re free to use whatever cheese and sauce you like.

I’ve used my leftover asparagus and then added Parmesan and a sour cream/mayo dressing.

5. Steak Pasta Frittata

If you like eggs for breakfast (or any other meal of the day!), why not turn your leftovers into a delish frittata?

Besides being super easy to make, this recipe is as versatile as you want it to be.

You can add your choice of veggies, cheeses, meats, and seasoning.

6. Steak Pasta Pie

Don’t worry, it’s not an apple pie with some leftover steak pasta plopped in!

This is a savory pie-style dish that uses a mixture of ground beef and tomato sauce as a crust.

The filling?

Well, that’s where your leftover pasta steak comes in along with cottage and mozzarella cheese.

7. Beef Pasta Skillet

I know what it feels like when laziness kicks in and you just don’t feel like cooking a whole meal.

This yummy skillet is a lifesaver, whether for lunch or dinner.

Not only does it use up leftovers, but it’s quick to finish and doesn’t make a mess.

8. Beef Noodle Soup

A hearty beef noodle soup is a staple for those cold days when you just want to snuggle with a warm dish.

Everything from the steamy broth to the refreshing herbs just adds to the overall comfort of the meal.

Serve it alongside some garlic bread and you’ll taste perfection.

9. Steak Pasta Burrito

If you’re looking for a versatile dish to use up your meat and pasta, try giving this burrito recipe a go!

I mean, people add rice and meat to their burritos all the time, so why not pasta?

I like to add some provolone cheese and sriracha sauce, but you can throw in whatever ingredients tickle your fancy.

10. Steak Pasta Pesto Casserole

Cooking up a casserole is a fantastic way to incorporate everything into a hearty main course.

It’s easy, quick, and doesn’t need many additional ingredients.

Just stir in some pesto sauce to add garlicky, savory, and fresh flavors.

Top the casserole with your favorite cheese, pop it in the oven, and voila!

11. Fried Steak Pasta

Instead of snacking on crackers or potato chips, how about you munch on this crispy fried steak pasta?

All you need to do is stir in a little tomato sauce then fry all of the leftovers in some olive for a few minutes.

It tastes so good you’ll be fighting over the last bite!

12. Steak Pasta Fritters

Who would say no to fritters?

No one, especially when the job is practically done when you’re working with your carb and protein ingredients.

You just need to mix eggs, cheese, and heavy cream with your steak and pasta.

Then, scoop or ladle the mixture onto an oiled hot pan.

Once golden on both sides, top with basil leaves.

13. Steak and Pasta Pizza

I believe that anything can be a pizza if you try hard enough!

Luckily, turning leftover steak pasta into a pizza is effortless.

Just grab a pan, load it with the leftovers, and then cover it with cheese.

14. Steak and Pasta Stuffed Garlic Bread

What’s better than garlic bread?

Only stuffed garlic bread.

For this mouth-watering recipe, you can use leftover strip steak and many pasta types like (fettuccine, linguine, penne, rigatoni, etc.), as the filling for the garlic bread.

The result is darn brilliant!

The resulting cheesy, beefy, and garlicky meal is perfect for an Italian dinner.

15. Fried Balls

Fried and cheesy? Where do I sign up?

This dish doesn’t just taste amazing as an appetizer or snack, but it’s also very fun to make and devour.

Like this recipe, you’ll end up with crunch balls with a creamy interior, but your version will have bits of steak in them!

Leftover Steak Pasta: What You Need to Know

Now that you’ve got a bunch of recipes up your sleeve for leftover trout, don’t stop there!

You should be familiar with the storage techniques and conditions of trout fish so you can use the leftovers in the best way possible.

How to Store Leftover Steak Pasta

If you end up with a lot of extra and you want to store them for later, make sure you don’t leave it sitting at room temperature for longer than 1 to 2 hours.

Once the leftovers cool down, you can refrigerate them for short-term use or freeze them for long-term use.

Put the leftovers in food storage containers or zip-lock bags.

The closure should be airtight to prevent faster deterioration in the fridge or damage by freezer burn

If you store this freshly cooked food while still warm, be sure to divide it into small portions and place it in shallow containers so it cools down quicker in the fridge.

How to Reheat Leftover Steak and Pasta

The best way to reheat this food is by placing it in the oven at a low temperature for about 30 minutes.

You can also reheat these leftovers in the microwave for about 60 or 90 seconds at medium settings.

Whatever reheating method you choose, be sure to spray the leftovers with some water or add a bit of sauce to keep the pasta from turning mushy.

How Long Can Steak Pasta Last in the Fridge?

According to the USDA, you can safely keep cooked beef in the fridge (less than 40 degrees F) for up to 3 to 4 days.

As for cooked pasta, you can safely store it in the fridge for 3 to 5 days.

This means that 4 days is the sweet spot for refrigeration.

You should use your surplus within the recommended period, otherwise, it’ll begin to spoil and become dangerous.

Remember, refrigeration doesn’t stop bacterial growth, it only slows it down.

Can You Keep Leftover Steak Pasta in the Freezer?

Yes, you can store this food in the freezer if you don’t plan on using it within the next few days.

Cooked meat can last between 2 to 6 months in the freezer, whereas cooked pasta can last about 3 or 4 months.

To get the best possible quality, use your leftover steak pasta within 2 to 4 months of freezing.

During this period, these ingredients maintain their texture, aroma, and flavor mostly unchanged.

If you don’t mind a compromised quality, you can safely use frozen meat and pasta for an indefinite time if it’s kept constantly frozen at 0 degrees F.
