15 Leftover Strip Steak Recipes You’ll Devour

15 Leftover Strip Steak Recipes You’ll Devour

A good strip steak meal should never come to an end when there’s still some left on your plate.

Yes, I’m team “no steak left behind.”

However, I get it if you’re not in the mood to eat steak twice in a row.

But who said you had to?

Strip steak leftovers are like a magical portal to a plethora of mouthwatering recipes.

Just stick with me, and you’ll learn about 15 leftover strip steak recipes that’ll tempt you to intentionally save some for later.

Besides, if you’re worried about overcooking it while reheating it, you shouldn’t be.

At the end of this article, I’ll show you three methods, along with their tips, for reheating leftover strip steak without overcooking it.

So let’s get going!

1. Mongolian Beef

Mongolian beef is my ideal representation of an on-the-spot bittersweet flavor.

But you know what’s even better?

It’s one of the quickest meals and easiest thin steak recipes you can prepare! Especially if you already have the leftover strip steak.

It saves you the hassle of cooking meat from scratch, leaving you to focus on the sauce and the steamed rice.

Some people also like to sauté some vegetables with this dish.

As for me, I stick with the classics on this one. So I simply enjoy eating the glazed meat cooked with onions over rice.

2. Steak Mac and Cheese

Call me extra, but this leftover strip steak mac and cheese recipe is to die for!

It’s a very homey dish and perfect for stay-ins. I don’t think I’ve ever served it to a family member, young or old, without making them feel warm and happy.

Perhaps the velvety texture and the steak’s tenderness work their magic?

Anyway, when reheating the steak for this recipe, I don’t like to take shortcuts like microwaving.

I prefer to reheat it on the stovetop, and all reheating methods are explained at the end of this article.

3. Steak and Onions Naan

Try this naan recipe for a more creative take on what to do with leftover strip steak.

Naan’s soft and mellow texture makes it the ideal base for more flavorful-packed toppings.

I usually substitute different cuts of meat in this recipe, depending on the leftovers I have.

However, my family and I can all agree that leftover roast beef and strip steak have made the best meat toppings so far.

They just pair well with balsamic vinegar glaze and caramelized onions.

4. Asian Steak Noodle Bowl

Asian noodle bowls are wholesome, and adding leftover strip steak is like the cherry on top.

When I have steak leftovers and want to cook a healthy meal on the go, this is the meal I go straight to.

It gives me the ideal ratio of protein and carbs for the day.

5. Loaded Steak Fries

When there aren’t many strip steak leftovers, I go straight for loaded fries.

I set the mood, make a plate, and go off by myself.

Although loaded fries are there to be shared, I’ll take Joey’s side and repeat his mantra, “Joey doesn’t share food!”

All jokes aside, if you do have a lot of leftovers (including the leftover French fries!), it makes a great dish for gatherings.

I like to keep this gem in the category of quick recipes, so I simply reheat the steak in the microwave.

6. Steak Stew

Who doesn’t enjoy warm stew on a chilly day?

Your leftover strip steak will help you prepare a quick and tasty stew.

Since the meat is already cooked, all that’s left to do is cook the vegetables in broth.

The bite-sized steak should only be added at the very end to simmer with the stew for a few minutes. That’s to allow all the flavors to merge.

7. Spicy Korean Beef and Cucumber Appetizers

I was once invited to a cocktail party with an “Amuse Bouche” food theme.

Everyone had to make their own platter, and we’d get to try and swap Amuse Bouche recipes.

One of the guests made these spicy Korean beef and cucumber bites, which were exquisite!

This tiny bite was like a flavor rollercoaster in my mouth. The different tastes of spices hit you first, and then the cucumber cools everything down.

Obviously, I took its recipe, made it with leftover strip steak, and let’s just say my guests were wowed!

8. Leftover Strip Steak Fajitas

You’re missing out if you’ve never tried making sizzling steak fajitas at home.

Try this fajita recipe the next time you have leftover strip steak. It requires only basic ingredients and guarantees full belly satisfaction.

9. Steak Burrito Bowls

Making a burrito bowl is one of the fun leftover strip steak ideas.

It can be made in less than 15 minutes or by the time you finish the rice and dressing.

Feel free to make a burrito sandwich if you’d rather combine the ingredients on a tortilla.

It’ll be just as tasty!

10. Steak and Cheese Stuffed Peppers

I first started stuffing bell peppers because one of my friends had started a low-carb diet and had them everywhere we went.

For breakfast, lunch, and dinner, she’d stuff them with things like grilled chicken and salmon with cream cheese, etc.

I was blown away by how well they blended with almost all of the stuffing!

That’s when I tried this steak and cheese stuffed peppers recipe with leftover strip steak, and it was out of this world.

Don’t forget these amazing sides to complete your meal with these!

11. Philly Cheesesteak Sliders

This is my savior dish when I have a group of friends coming over.

I simply use any leftover strip steak to make delicious Philly cheesesteak sliders.

Add in baked potato wedges on the side, and you’ve got yourself a happy crowd!

12. Steak Salad

Although my food choices aren’t always healthy, I can’t pass up a good salad recipe.

What are my “good” criteria?

To be refreshing, nutritious, and easy to prepare.

That’s exactly what this leftover strip steak salad recipe is!

I promise the citrus and herbal fusion in it will give you a boost to get through the rest of your day.

Top Techniques for Reheating Leftover Strip Steak

There’s a fine line between warming up a steak and overcooking it; make sure not to cross it!

That’s why I’ve gathered three of the best methods for reheating leftover strip steak:

On the Stovetop

  • Preheat a nonstick skillet over medium-low heat
  • Add a couple of tablespoons of stored steak juice or beef broth.
  • Place the steak, cover the skillet and reduce the heat to low.
  • Check the steak every three to five minutes until it reaches 110°F.
  • Remove the steak from the skillet and wipe out any liquids.
  • Add a teaspoon of oil and sear the steak on each side until crisp.

In the Oven

  • Preheat the oven to 250°F
  • Place a cooling rack on a baking sheet, then place the steak on top, allowing the heat to circulate evenly throughout the steak.

(If you don’t have a cooling rack, you can place the strip steak directly on the baking sheet)

  • Bake for 20 to 30 minutes, or until the steak is thoroughly heated, reading 110°F on a meat thermometer.
  • In a skillet, sear the steak for about a minute on each side to create a nice crust.

In the Microwave

  • Put the strip steak in a microwave-safe container with a splash of steak juice or beef broth
  • Cover it with cling film, a lid, or a damp paper towel to trap moisture
  • Reheat for approximately two minutes, checking every 30 seconds
  • Remove the plate when the steak is sufficiently heated

You’ve cracked the code for what to do with leftover strip steak and how to reheat it.
