McDonald's Biscuit Recipe

McDonald's biscuits have that unmistakable light, flaky texture that melts in your mouth. And...you guys can totally make these at home!
The trick to getting that soft, layered crumb is using really cold butter and handling the dough as little as possible.
I always freeze my butter and grate it straight into the flour—it blends in quickly without warming up, which keeps the biscuits from getting dense.
A touch of buttermilk brings just the right amount of tenderness, while baking at a high temperature ensures they rise beautifully.
The result is golden on the outside, airy on the inside, and just the right amount of richness without being too heavy.
Serve them warm with butter and honey, or use them as the base for a hearty breakfast sandwich!

  • 2/3 cup Buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup Butter melted
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Salt

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 450°F.
  • This temperature will help the biscuits rise quickly and evenly.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine Bisquick mix, buttermilk, sugar, and salt.
  • Gently stir the ingredients until a soft dough forms.
  • Place the dough on a floured surface.
  • Knead the dough for about 30 seconds to a minute and then roll it out to approximately 1/2 inch thick.
  • Use a biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits from the dough.
  • Transfer these to an ungreased baking sheet.
  • Re-roll the scraps and repeat until all dough is used.
  • Brush the tops of the biscuits with melted butter.
  • Place them in the oven for about 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
