Martha Stewart Apple Fritters Recipe

When it comes to creating delicious apple fritters, Martha Stewart's recipe is my go-to every time!
The combo of tender, diced sweet apples and a crisp, golden exterior is to-di-for my friend.
You don't need any yeast, which makes the frying process quick and hassle-free!
Using a slotted spoon for turning the fritters ensures they brown evenly on both sides, which is key for that perfect texture.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Granulated Sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp Coarse Salt
  • 3/4 cup Whole Milk
  • 2 cups Apples diced
  • Oil for frying
  • Confectioners' Sugar for dusting

Instructions

  • Begin by mixing the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  • Add milk gradually and stir until smooth.
  • Fold in the diced apples gently so they're evenly distributed through the batter.
  • This ensures every bite has a good bit of apple.
  • Heat oil in a deep pan to about 350°F.
  • Spoon batter carefully into the hot oil, using a tablespoon for small fritters or more for larger ones.
  • Fry each side for about 2 minutes or until both sides are golden brown.
  • Use a slotted spoon to turn them over nicely and evenly.
  • Remove fritters and drain any excess oil on a paper towel-lined plate.
  • Sprinkle with confectioners’ sugar before serving for that extra touch.
