Preheat your oven to 350°F.
Core the apples carefully to create a hollow center, but make sure not to go all the way through.
In a mixing bowl, combine the oats, chopped dried fruits, nuts, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
Fill the hollowed apples with this mixture, pressing it down as much as possible.
Top each apple with a small pat of unsalted butter.
Place the filled apples in a baking dish and pour the apple juice or water into the pan.
Bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until apples are tender but still hold their shape.
