Bojangles Dirty Rice Recipe

If you want a side dish that eats like a meal, this Bojangles dirty rice has it!
For this, I always cook the rice separately and stir it in at the end—it keeps the texture just right.
Crumbling the sausage extra fine is the key to getting it evenly distributed in every bite.
A mix of Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, and black pepper gives it a deep, savory edge.
Leftovers heat up beautifully, and the flavors somehow get even better after sitting overnight.
A little dash of hot sauce on top makes this even more amazing!

  • 2 cups White Rice cooked
  • 1 Bell Pepper chopped
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 tsp Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 tsp Paprika

  • 1/2 tsp Salt

Instructions

  • Start by heating the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the ground sausage and cook it until it's completely browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
  • Add the chopped bell pepper, onion, and minced garlic to the skillet with the sausage.
  • Cook for about 10 minutes, or until the onions are soft and translucent.
  • Stir in the cayenne pepper, paprika, black pepper, and salt.
  • Mix everything well to coat the vegetables and sausage with the spices.
  • Fold in the cooked white rice.
  • Mix thoroughly so that the rice is evenly distributed and well-coated with the sausage mixture.
  • Allow the rice to cook for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • This ensures the flavors meld together nicely.
