Starbucks dark caramel sauce recipe

Starbucks Dark Caramel Sauce Recipe

If you like that deep, toasty caramel drizzle from Starbucks, this is the one to make, guys!
The trick is cooking the sugar until it’s nearly burnt—but not quite—so it develops a deep, rich edge.
Adding butter before the cream helps smooth everything out and gives a silkier texture.
You'll want to stir constantly while adding the cream to prevent any grainy bits from forming.
This sauce has just the right balance for lattes, desserts, or even dipping apple slices!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • 1/2 cup Heavy Cream
  • 1/4 tsp Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, combine sugar and water over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely.
  • This should take about 3-4 minutes.
  • Increase the heat to medium-high and stop stirring.
  • Let it boil until the mixture turns a deep amber color.
  • Carefully remove from heat and slowly add the heavy cream while stirring.
  • It might bubble up, so pour gradually to avoid splattering.
  • Add vanilla extract and stir until smooth.
  • Return to low heat and simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Remove the sauce from the heat and let it cool before transferring it to a jar.
  • The sauce will thicken as it cools.
