Pioneer Woman Bacon Jam Recipe

I absolutely love making Pioneer Woman’s Bacon Jam.
The combination of crispy bacon, caramelized onions, and a touch of coffee creates the perfect savory-sweet spread like nothing else I can imagine!
You’ll need a few essential ingredients...including coffee!
Tip: Make sure to cook the bacon until it’s crisp and drain the excess fat for the best results.
Once you let the mixture simmer for about 30 minutes, your jam will develop that rich, deep flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Bacon
  • 2 large Onions sweet yellow
  • 1/4 cup Balsamic Vinegar
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Kosher Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper freshly ground

Instructions

  • Cook the bacon in a medium saucepan over medium heat until crispy, about 10-12 minutes.
  • Remove bacon and drain on paper towels.
  • Drain most of the bacon grease, leaving about 1-2 tablespoons in the pan.
  • Add onions and cook until caramelized, about 20 minutes.
  • Add balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, kosher salt, and black pepper.
  • Stir to combine and cook for another 10 minutes.
  • Return the bacon to the pan and stir.
  • Reduce the heat and simmer until the mixture is thick and jam-like, about 30 minutes.
  • Transfer the mixture to a food processor and pulse a few times until it's chunky but spreadable.
