How to Have the Best Backyard Set up for BBQ Season
The BBQ season is fast approaching, and now is the time to start preparing your backyard.
Most families spend the majority of their relaxing time in two areas of a home, in the living room and the backyard.
Both are much more enjoyable if you have the proper ambiance and amenities.
Choosing the Right BBQ
The ultimate BBQ will be built in one that has counter space and room for a refrigerator.
Those can be costly but look very nice. The next best thing is a high-end gas BBQ grill.
Our two favorites are Weber and Traeger Grills.
Both companies have top of the line features, but the Traeger Grills go all out with WiFi technology. You can review the top BBQ grills for the 2020 summer.
A fire pit will add a lot of charm to your backyard. It will also allow for a place to relax and chill.
Sitting around a fire with music can be quality family time and a lot of fun.
Fire pits make for a great area to roast marshmallows and make s’mores after dinner.
You can even add a wood rack near the fire pit to stack the wood you’ll burn over the summer season.
Having seats that are a permanent fixture in your backyard is a must.
Nobody wants to sit in a flimsy collapsible chair. People want comfort and fancier seating.
Adirondack chairs are a trendy option that will last a long time and won’t break the bank.
Another option is an outdoor dining set or outdoor rattan furniture, which hole up well in the elements.
Adirondack chairs are also great to circle a fire pit around.
Shade from the Sun
There are two popular options for adding shade in your backyard.
Don’t go cheap and add a popup canopy but rather create the right environment.
Permanent shade structures are the way to go. Alumawood patio covers are good but can cost several thousand dollars.
A cheaper option that looks nice is to install a ShelterLogic shade sail.
The sail’s themselves are inexpensive and can be attached to either a house or pole in the ground.
When the sun goes down, it can get really dark in your backyard.
Even with a fire pit on the light from the fire pit only covers so much.
This is why you will want to add some backyard lighting.
Low voltage lights that accent your trees and bushes will help make for a gorgeous nighttime backyard.
If you want to keep your electric bill down, you can either add solar lighting or LED lighting.
The solar lights generally aren’t as bright as usual lighting, so if that if, your concern gets the LED lighting.
While adding all these elements to your backyard will make this summer much better, it all isn’t needed.
You can still enjoy your backyard by adding one or more of these tips.
Although if you add anything, you should start with the BBQ grill.
